At the bottom of the supermarket trolley were a bunch of baby rabbits. As white as snow and with ruby red eyes, they sat motionless. Pushing the trolley was Claudia. She must have been in her early seventies and had tightly curled silver hair. She moved effortlessly through the aisles as she grabbed the baby rabbits from the trolley and tossed them by the scruff of their necks up into empty cages.
